what i call my paternal grandmother. she just turned 78~

annual chinese dinner..

the food here costs a bomb! each dish is charged by person and every little thing is priced at at least $8 per pax. mummy & i did our best in selecting a set dinner to salvage daddy's bill. haha.



5 dishes plus a dessert.
salmon fish roll with honeydew salad
braised shark's fin with shredded chicken & harsma
braised sliced abalone with sea cucumber & seasonal greens
braised fillet of venison with fresh button & chinese mushrooms
stewed E fu noodle with fresh crab meat
sweetened cream of almond with glutinous rice ball

i like how each dish is neatly presented and served in individual portions; easy for my photo-taking. heh x)

basically everything was up to standard except maybe the dessert. first attempt of deer meat and eeks it felt like steak. exotic meats are just not for me, haha. but i so love that abalone slice!

total damage= $700++

i was super drawn into the attractive christmas decor at orchard hotel. they even had a hut made of real gingerbread and gummies for selling their christmas goodies~




so pretty! even grandma couldn't resist it. LOL.
