Boycott?

i had my worst meal in the most unexpected place: Cedele.

excuse me while i voice out all my dissatisfaction.

a fine late afternoon (obviously hungry), dad decided to drop in here for lunch. we ordered both our favourites... clearly stating our requirements to the manager server. emphasizing.. CLEARLY to the MANAGER.

a roasted garlic aglio mushroom spaghetti
a grilled salmon burger (dressing separated)

he didn't even both to ask for my preferred choice of bread. so i initiatively told him, with sunflower seed bread. he said okay. alright orders taken.

15 minutes later.
dad's pasta arrived. WRONG ORDER, it came as a mushroom alfredo instead of aglio. informed the waiter and he agreed to get it changed.

10 minutes later.
my sandwich came. everything alrite but the entire dressing was within the sandwich. so i clarified with the waiter i actually requested to get it separated. he happily went into the kitchen and got me a small plate of more dressing.

like hello, who doesn't understand SEPARATE the dressing?

then he told me he'll go check my orders with the kitchen. returned, reconfirmed my initial order was a grilled salmon burger with dressing separated. nods and went back to get a new one.

15 minutes later.
they finally served dad's pasta correctly. he started to eat.

another 15 minutes later.
my second burger came. yes, dressing aside but with FOCCACIA bread. the chef just happily assembled my burger with some other rubbish bread when its common sense a repeat order withh require the same bread right?!!

its so stupid. just like you ordered a bah chor mee pok without chilli. it came with chilli so you got the uncle to get it changed for you, and he gives you a bowl of MEE KIA without chilli. same logic- which is absolutely annoying.

worse thing, this is not just some rundown hawker centre with older and probably more forgetful hawker uncles. this is a proper cafe in orchard road charging at restaurant prices with GST & 10% service charge! and i believe the chef is not some 60 year old senior citizen right? that's why i really couldn't tolerate the atrocious negligance.

okay i endured. waited for a third burger.
10 minutes later.
it finally arrived as a correct order. i instantly tucked in. DAMN. the bestest sandwich on earth suddenly became the worst ever. slipshod and effortlessly done.

bread was messily cut into extremely thick, difficult to handle slices. not toasted, and was awfully hard and stale. they dumped in half-inch thick cheese, one side hard and not melted while the bottom one gooed into some uncontrollable mess. the lettuce and red peppers were greasy, soaked and shrivelled and the salmon came in flakes. CRAP.

i swear it was a torture eating that junk but i still wiped it out. why? cause i was seriously famished already and didn't want to waste dad's $17.

not even a sorry from them.

dad was so pissed he didn't even bother to complain. he told me we are never going back to this cedele again, since they don't even bother to take pride in the customers food. manager was unclear about orders, waiters black-faced and insincere, chefs negligent and slack. plus not a single apology.

they seriously ought to learn from marina's Pasta de Waraku. WORLD'S APART.but you know what? i kinda miss my grilled salmon burger, heh.
