One Significant Parade

who says that NDP is boring? i used to, but i've changed my mind.

this year's parade at Marina Bay is unbelievably fantabulous!
fantastic + fabulous, i mean.

the 2nd Combined Rehearsal and actually felt like going for some total defence showcase, pop concert, disney on ice, musical fountain and volcano land! very entertaining dazzle of lightings and even exotic flames. okay it was that cool.

world biggest stage on the waters

pretty scene, ain't it?

the best part: you get to enjoy all that with the sea breeze! my only grouse was that cheapskate goodie bag which made everyone seem like some trash collector, heh. OH AND NO FIREWORKS.

before that i met up with dear..

we're at IKEA!

our triple-decked push trolley

table full of food

their famous cheesecake, very very soft and lemony.

the free shuttle to tampines mrt was an extremely long journey. joined yiliang and doreen on the train and headed down to Suntec together - Auntie Anne's for snack.

Caramel Almond Pretzel. ooh, it was warm soft crunchy and yummy!

doreen, mr spastic & me

that girl's one lovely person to talk to; we can go on and on... a final note: please please go experience the NDP it if you have a chance. trust me, you wouldn't regret it.

Ice³ Cafe

Nestled in the heart of Serangoon Gardens is one of our perfect chill-out spots! This hideout is a wonderful place to get our sugar fix after the parade.

Waffle with Super Cheesy Strawberry Ice Cream

Waffle with Chocolate Chip Mint Ice Cream

I love having the waffles here along with their homemade icecream. This fresh, made-to-order waffle is such a stunner that it beats Gelare handsdown- i'm serious! Gelare's are sometimes eekily hard and taste just like some biscuit but this comes moist & airy inside.

Plus that dollop of thick sticky cheese icecream and sharply sweet butterscotch sauce..we happily tucked into our sinful supper (:

Towning with MooMoo

The common tests are finally over!

But strangely, i don't feel very liberated after my last paper today. H2 mathematics was a total screw-up just as i expected, so difficult and sigh-incurring. i left plenty of blanks throughout the entire paper ):

anyways, post examination celebration with Sarah!

I was desperate for some shopping and relaxtion after that tough taxing week.. and Miss Clarity Cafe fits the bill for a happy atmosphere.

Pretty value set lunches they had. my main course wasn't too bad but the mango sorbet was way too pathetic that we got an extra dessert to share.

Pan-Seared Dory Fillet

Baked Pasta with Crispy Chicken

Bread & Butter Pudding. i wonder why it was oozing with oil- b&b puddings don't actually require butter as an ingredient!

Felt so filled after lunch that i needed to walk.. we practically toured town from bugis to orchard and then back to city hall! managed to get an Esprit belt at a good deal.

Moomoo loving her moomoo

A celebration wouldn't do without some high-tea for that complete tai-tai image. An absolute steal at Kuriya Dining offers high-class japanese desserts plus a drink at only $5++...

Cream Anmitsu. Red bean paste, fruit balls, glutinous dough and milky vanilla icecream over plenty of plain agar cubes... matched with special soba tea.

sarah's Soba Crepe. we both expected soba noodles wrapped inside but it turned out to be a mere crepe made of buckwheat.

tucking in..

More window shopping after that, until it was time for dinner with my family. Organic vegan food at Green on Earth Cafe.

Healthy Kuey Teow for me.

It was a novelty to see how they modify these intially unhealthy dishes into guilt-free ones...fried kway teow without that punch of grease, baked rice in soymilk instead of heavy cream (which sis had) and even eggless desserts. Weekly promotion of 1-for-1 brownie was yet another good deal found..

shared a warm Brownie serving with sis. lots of walnut bits and a scoop of vanilla chocolate-chip icecream which remained miraculously frozen despite the heat.

at least my mood managed a gradual change with time. off go the deep dull sink in my heart.. for now, i just needed to get rid of those awful panda eyebags.

C+C= Our Comfort Food!

I'm so glad to have a daddy whom i enjoy being with.. always taking me out for good meals and relaxing high-teas. *POOF. call me daddy's little girl, anytime.

Life recently published a whole feature on ramen places and we went to try out Ichiban-Tei at Robertson Quay. i never such a happening place existed, the quay side was full of promising restaurants & cafes!

high tea after a late lunch

Canele Patisserie Chocolaterie

oh man, the desserts here are so awfully tempting!

its hard to resist such pretty cakes.

Le Royale

Chloe

Rosebuds Tea

Both cakes we picked off the shelves were real quality stuff. Le Royale was a total satisfier boasting alternate layers of 66% dark chocolate mousse, cake and light wafer. so rich and sinful! Chloe consisted of some delightful yogurt mousse centred between moist dense sponge.

cleared.

feeling so happy & satisfied!

Dinner was yet another one of our comfort foods..
usual Cedele Cafe at wheelock place;

salmon sandwich which daddy loved

shrimp avocado wasabi

single scoop vanilla bean icecream

standard procedure before digging in

yum.

the best things about dining with dad is how we have similar preferences and food photography interests. i hate it when mum starts grumbling while i shoot cause it totally ruins my mood. looking forward to our next weekend adventure (:
