QUAN JIA FU.
the entire family gathered together to celebrate mummy's 50th birthday. almost everyone showed up to give the Da Jie some face and three large tables were reserved to fit all 29 of us. vegetarian food as usual, at a place called Happy Arts Deli located in Metta School.
the dishes...
yam basket, claypot curry fish, lotus roots with lilybulbs, sweet & sour oyster mushroom fritters,thai-style tofu, kailan with assorted mushrooms, fried noodles.
all tasted rather healthy but the delicious tofu stood out from the rest. excelllently deep-fried to achieve those soft interiors, then nicely complemented with sweet thai chilli sauce.
with cousins jamie & valerie
chocolate durian cake with a spelling mistake
patricia, not patriacia

-mummy's treat to dessert..
Swensen's @ Parkway Parade
mummy believes that giving is a blessing, so she offered everyone a treat. location was suggested by Uncle Peter cause apparently he knows one of the manager here. No discount though, just four complimentary bowls of soup.
i see no link. offering soup before icecream is seriously brainless.
long line-up!

capturing all the desserts was impossible since almost all the orders came at the same time, so here are a few varieties i've got...

chocolate fondue for 2
mummy & sis ordered this but were both full from sharing the complimentary firehouse happy birthday with grandma plus sis drank that chicken soup, so this ended up being cleared by aunt sheila and the rest. haha.
MY TOPLESS 5.
usual pistachio almond, lime sherbet, strawberry, blueberry and..
new hazelnut was love! <3
creamy and thick in consistency, but the blueberry was quite a letdown.

daddy had a vanilla milkshake which he only consumed like one-third of it and claimed that it was way too sweet and all. how expected.
and icecreams are sweet of course.
like duh.
cute jane with her sticky chewy chocolate icecream ball
what a glutton i am! i reckon i was the only one who gobbled up five whole scoops of the icecream since most of them shared the desserts (and calories, haha.) i think i had too much but they were quite worth gaining a pound for. pretty rich stuffs i would say.
later in the night.
daddy and i shook them off at bugis
bought mummy a Nokia 5300 Express Music
had a comforting dinner at our usual Cedele
picked them up from PS
favourites.
oatbran grilled salmon burger & organic soymilk
same burger, wholemeal sunflower seed bread for me (=
simply lovely.
