Sun with Moon

firday is here. sis had to work OT whilst mum had a dinner appointment with her friends so its down to daddy & me again... japanese food for us tonight!

waited for him again at the usual spot with my usual food. Singpost's Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for my late-noon snack.

tasty toast treat (with a genmai tea)

gosh there was an unexpected congestion at nicoll highway area and by the time we beat it to arrive at Wheelock, the place was already packed. had to leave our contact numbers and wait patiently for 45 minutes before getting a table.

its already 8.20pm and here's our food!

saikoro tofu which was basically agedashi style downed with their homemade vegetable sauce. daddy didn't fancy that sticky clingy skin.

their signature steamed pot rice is the obvious choice for mains. in the local context you can see it as claypot rice where you dig, mix and finally scrape off some charred crisps at the bottom. but this is certainly something more unique..

Kamameshis, they call it.

timed on-the-spot with a hourglass to ensure the perfect rice suppleness~ its 2 orders of Salmon Kamameshis for the salmon lovers!

piping hot flavoured rice with delightful additions of salmon roe, chestnuts, broad beans, carrot shreds and other miscellaneous mix-ins. the result? fragrant, tasty, yet absolutely non-greasy.

mix it up.

a cheesecake in a cage~!!

tofu cheese cake, wet and moussy atop a crispy coarse biscuit base. no gimmcks about this, it did have that tofu punch. yummmsie.

pricing here is slightly astronomical for it food portions but it probably goes into the presentation of the food. lovely place to be (:
