The Olive Ristorante

After that hopeless H1 Chemistry Paper and a lecture-packed day at school, i made my way down to Singpost's Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf to wait for daddy. Within ninety minutes, i had an entire Tasty Toast Treat set with 3 refills of vanilla ceylon and caught up on quite abit of differentiation. now that deserves some encouragement =p

he picked me up after work and we travelled a long way down to Bukit Timah to settle stuffs for my cousin Victor. then we made a wrong turn into Clementi which reminded dad of a dining recommendation by his colleague... made a call to ask for directions and off we went into Labrador Park!

drove up that dark spooky slope until a restaurant came to view...

it was an extraordinary dining place indeed! the charming outdoor dining concept in this secluded location greets a welcoming break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

dad's my dinner date for today, haha.
(pardon all my atrocious shots. bad lighting!)

kick-starting our gastronomic meal was a lukewarm Clam Chowder accompanied with a rosemary-infused foccacia bun. full-bodied with the clam flavour which did fine for daddy but unfortunately not for me.

my order served in a huge plate

Spaghetti Scampi displayed some tiger prawns galore! my pasta pleased with a serving of 7 notably succulent prawns and button mushrooms. spaghetti was as fine as capellini and impressed with its flavourful touch of light olive oil and garlic.

Spaghetti Vongole brimming with countless clams and an invigorating white wine aroma. the clams were really alot!

the sweet endings...

Warm Chocolate Cake was a chef recommendation served with vanilla icecream. I'm not usually fond of chocolate desserts but this managed to strike a chord with me...semi-baked until moist and dense in texture. vanilla icecream just mediocre. i like that presentation (:

Upon seeing me indulge, dad couldn't resist ordering a Tiramisu as well.

A very rich one, he says.

The high opportunity cost of this unique open air concept -absence of airconditioning- may be quite a letdown for some but the whirring fans and night breeze did make up for it. This is certainly one of the best alfresco dining resturants in Singapore, where one can unwind in the beauty of nature. Thanks daddy for the unforgettable experience!
