Third Milestone

yep, we're reaching our 3 years.
220908
he will soon leave singapore on a 2-month sail so we had an early celebration. alas, no confinement this weekend. thankgod.

the day started off on bad rocks for me...
my effortful surprise was wasted.
he was in a trashy mood so i was the venting-bag.
aiya forget it.

fortunately i managed to get a hold of my endurance.

we had planned to watch Money No Enough since a long time ago, but he suddenly claimed he had to watch it with his parents. oh wells. so it ended up with The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

Not a bad movie though, quite an eye-opener.

Anniversary Dinner.
He wanted to return to Wild Rocket but the place was full till 8.15pm. Desire was also occupied for the night. Leaves us with whitebait! i got changed into my dress for the dinner.

Whitebait & Kale @ Orchard Camden

A venue that combines quality food, casual dining and effortless style. The Australian contemporary restaurant prides itself on serving fresh, honest comfort food in a stylish chic space.

pan fried jumbo lump crab cakes, asparagus & bush tomato chutney
okay cool, crabcakes are one of my favourites! this is one thoughtfully concocted appetiser that managed to get me hooked. These substantial patties lusciously comprised of delicate crabmeat and chopped peppers- and was no doubt very satisfying. the spiced tomato sauce was yummy yummy.

char-grilled calamari with warm borlotti beans & tabbouleh salad
he liked this dish, but i ended up eating most of the squid. haha. slightly charred and dry paired with refreshing mint leaves.

main courses...

grilled whole rainbow trout
yes i was dumb not to see the word whole and trust the captain's claim of it as a highly-recommended dish. so there i was gasping when it arrived and then spending the next 15 minutes unglammly picking bones out of my mouth. LOL. still, very fresh but oily trout, aussie import.

capellini with jumbo lump crabmeat & grilled peppers in extra virgin olive oil
finer angel-hair pasta proved to be more al dente and less soggy. Right amount of olive-oil used and well-paired off with the fresh crabmeat chunks.

flourless chocolate cake & madagascar vanilla bean ice cream
dense and chocolatey. this one's rich and even richer with its supreme scoop of sweet vanilla icecream. i love real vanilla beans (:

masala chai panna cotta with dried fruits compote, persian fairy floss
mine was an exotic stunner. a cream pudding studded with an indian infusion and served with those lovely melty fairy floss.

Numi Jasmine Green Tea for me of course =D
comes with a little butter cookie.

yea dinner was good, thanks dear for the luxurious treat.

where were we?

somewhere so unexpected.

happy 3 years! (:
