Jones The Grocer

you know, i have heard oh-so-much about this new dempsey hangout hailing from Australia...and now i'm proud to shout out: i've visited JONES~! finally. thanks to dad for initiating the trip there after gym at occ...

Jones the Grocer @ Dempsey Hill

this aussie setup is no small-fry. the centre dining area was bustling with a 70% foreigner-lunch-crowd gleefully tucking into their lazy sunday brunches. more delightfully, the sides are compactly lined up with shelves of gourmet food supplies for purchasing.. even equipped with a specialized cheese room!

they named this the Jones English Breakfast, a whopping $20 feature of scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon streaks, mushrooms, tomatoes and a sentosa sourdough toast. my bite of the slow-roasted tomato and warm sourdough was yummy.

Toasted Bagel with Woodbridge Smoked Salmon

you could call it people-pressure/influence, i ordered this after watching my caucasian neighbour in the process of savouring his fragrant bagel dish. no regrets, this is a bagel like never before! a total change from the dense heavy stuffs to a brandnew, fluffy toasted circle piled with seasoned mushrooms, moist salmon slices and a handful of raw watercress. worth the $13.50.

how could i resist a slice from the cake shelf? i picked the Carrot Walnut Cake for $6, which was sure an extremely delicious rendition packed with cinnamon goodness. it was more moist and robust in flavour than Cedele's, and even the walnuts within displayed an amazing degree of crunchiness.

cuppuccino and a pot of tea for drinks.

time for shopping! but their stuffs were pretty ex ):

heart the variety of sweet goods (:

left with some new tea leaves, 2 packets of squid ink, a refreshing carrot & lemongrass juice & a big smile on my face. HAHA.
jones, i will be back.
